The Punjab Ehsaas Program 2022 has been established by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA).

Eligibility for Ehsaas Program :

Families may sign up for the Rashan program of Ehsaas if their monthly income is less than Rs. 50,000. The 8171 SMS service or the online portal may only be used by one applicant’s family member whose mobile phone is listed on his or her personal Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC).

Emergency Cash Loan Program Ehsaas Program:

The Ehsaas interest-free loan program under the Ehsas kafala program was introduced by the Government of Pakistan’s Cabinet Secretariat, Poverty Alleviation and Social Division, and Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF). Candidates that are female will be eligible for 50% of the Ehsaas free loan. Masawaat Programme:

For elderly and differently-abled transgender people (TGPs), the Masawaat Program offers unconditional cash transfers. It also offers job opportunities and microcredit to encourage TGPs to start their own businesses. In accordance with the Ehsaas Punjab Program 2022, senior transgender people may get an unconditional cash transfer worth Rs. 3,000 per month, and handicapped transgender people can receive an unconditional cash transfer worth Rs. 2,000 per month.

The purpose of this program is

  • Through the provision of means of subsistence as well as assistance for housing, health, and education, it is possible to mainstream transgender people who are generally excluded from public services and programs.

Under this scheme, all TGPs registered in Punjab would be entitled to get loans with no interest to start their own small companies. For TGPs up to Rs. 100,000, PSPA and the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) would provide interest-free loans.

Another conditional cash transfer provided by the Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA) and the Zewar-e-Taleem Program is for female students enrolled in public sector schools in 16 districts with poor literacy rates.

This effort aims to improve teenage girls’ enrollment and retention in school while also attending to their nutritional needs. The program offers a monthly stipend of Rs. 1,000 that is distributed through the branchless banking system created by PSPA.

In the districts of Bahawalnagar, Bahawalpur, Bhakkar, Chiniot, DG Khan, Jhang, Kasur, Khanewal, Layyah, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Okara, Pakpattan, Rajanpur, Rahim Yar Khan, and Vehari, females enrolled in government schools get a stipend.

The money is distributed on a quarterly basis, and it is only provided if the school education department receives a report showing an attendance rate of 80%. After the end of the school year, students enrolled in grade 10 are automatically removed from the program. The Program also excludes pupils who have dropped out of school.

Sila e Fun program:

The Punjab Social Protection Authority (PSPA), another project of the Punjab Ehsaas Program 2022, offers an unconditional cash transfer program for senior artists who have worked in a relevant profession for more than 25 years in each of the 36 districts of Punjab. This program is known as Sila-e-Fun.

For those aged and in need Punjabi artists, authors, poets, and media professionals who have made a significant contribution to their field—such as cinema, TV, literature, poetry, journalism, theater, music, painting, etc.—it would give a respectable social pension.

Under the unconditional cash transfer initiative, artists over 50 with monthly incomes of less than Rs. 15,000 and 25 years of relevant experience would get Rs. 5,000 each month. The objective of this initiative is to enhance the socioeconomic well-being of Punjabi artists who have made a significant contribution to their profession but are old and financially fragile.
