PPSC has announced 357 seats of inspector Legal in the Punjab Police. The eligibility criteria for the legal inspector is LLB. Law Graduate and also have practical experience as an advocate and also registration with Punjab Bar Council. Advocates having two-year valid practices as an advocate can apply for legal inspector vacancies. The age limit for the legal inspector is 30-32 years and there is a relaxation in the age limit for in-service candidates.

Syllabus of Legal Inspector 2022 PPSC:

The PPSC provides a document outlining Inspector Legal Syllabus 2022. According to Ppsc, the paper for Legal Inspector will be comprised of 6 papers and Viva Voce.

Passing Marks in Written Test

All six papers for Legal Inspector have a total of 550 marks. A candidate shall have to obtain 40 % marks in all subjects to pass the paper and overall 50% marks in aggregate to pass and qualify for an interview.

Interview Marks:

Thereafter a candidate shall have to obtain 50% marks in the interview for final selection otherwise he will not be considered in the final list.

The Syllabus of Legal Inspector paper of General Knowledge for 100 marks. It will be an MCQs type paper of 90 Minutes which will include different aspects as

Pakistan & Islamic Studies:

The Syllabus of Legal Inspector paper of Islamic Studies for 100 marks. It will be an MCQs-type paper of 90 Minutes which will include Islamic General Knowledge.

Non-Muslim candidates have the option either to attempt MCQs on Islamic Studies or a separate paper of the same number titled ‘ETHICS’.

English Essay:

English Essay is a subject in the Syllabus of Legal Inspector paper which will consist of 100 marks and comprise TWO HOURS.

There will be options of 5 Topics for candidates in which he will have to attempt only one essay consisting of a minimum of 1500-2000 words. The topic should be chosen very sensitively

Pakistan Penal Code:

Pakistan Penal Code Subject paper in the Syllabus of Legal Inspector paper will consist of 100 marks and comprise THREE HOURS. This Paper will include;

  • Pakistan Penal Code 1860
  • Criminal Procedure Code 1898

The Paper will consist of 9 questions and you have to attempt only 5 questions. Every question will contain equal marks.

Qanun e Shahadat Order 1984 :

Qanun e Shahadat Order 1984 subject Paper is included in the inspector legal syllabus consisting of different orders and Acts. This paper will be of 50 marks and comprised two hours. Qanun e Shahadat’s paper may include some ACT/ORDINANCE as follows;

  • The maintenance of Public Order ordinance 1960.
  • The regulation and control of loudspeaker and sound amplifiers ordinance 1965.
  • The Pakistan Arms ordinance 1965.
  • The motor vehicles ordinance, 1965.
  • The Indecent Advertisement prohibition act 1963.
  • The Punjab wildlife act 1974. The Public Gambling act.
  • The Pakistan environment protection ordinance 1983. The motion pictures ordinance 1979. The explosive act 1884.
  • The agriculture Pesticide control act.
  • The Punjab pure food ordinance act 1960.
  • The Child Marriage restraint act 1929.

Interview/Viva Voce:

Viva Voce’s paper for the legal inspector consists of 150 marks. Candidates have to secure 75 marks in the interview. This can include;

Job Description for Legal Inspector in Punjab Police:

Main Responsibilities and Tasks

1. To represent the Police Department in litigation before the Supreme Court, High Court & PST.

2. To pursue appeals/Writ Petitions/Civil Suits in the Concerned Courts.

3. To advise the Supervisory Officer in Legal Matters.

4. To work as Liaison Officer with Advocate General / Prosecutor General, District Attorney, and Director of Human Rights Cell in connection with the disposal of Human Rights Cases.

5. To maintain the record of HR Cases and provide consolidated/periodical reports to the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

6. To supervise Malkhana and Judicial Lock-Up.

7. To supervise the Urdu Office.

8. To scrutinize Challans before submission to the Courts (internal scrutiny)

9. To act as Law Instructors in Training Institutions.

10. Preparation of comments on appeals/petitions for the Supreme Court, High Court, and PST.

11. To advise SHOs, SDPOs, DPOs, CPOs, CCPOs, Lahore & RPOs in legal matters.

12. To prepare and vet the reports/comments in departmental appeals/representations on behalf of the competent authority.

13. To act as departmental representative (DR) in departmental inquiries.

14. Any other duty assigned by the Senior Officers.
